Introducing Manpreet Brar for School Board!

I’m a parent, business owner and lifelong member of the South Okanagan community. My parents immigrated to Penticton in the early 1980s, and I grew up attending School District 67 schools.

I hold a business degree and worked in Digital Marketing before stepping back to focus on my family and my children’s schooling. Today, my husband and I run Brarstar Orchards, here in Summerland.

I’m the parent of two children, ages six and nine, at Trout Creek Elementary, where I’m active with the Parent Advisory Council. Four years ago, I founded Trout Creek’s Multicultural Day, which has become a much-loved school tradition.

I’m running for School Trustee in Area 2 because I grew up here, and now my own kids are walking the same halls. When decisions are made at the board table, families feel them at the kitchen table, and I want to bring an everyday parent’s voice into that room.

My platform rests on four pillars:

  • Every Mind Matters: making student mental health a top priority, with early support that helps kids build confidence and succeed in all ways from the earliest grades.
  • Every Kid Belongs: making sure every child walks into school feeling safe and supported.
  • Every Dollar Counts: asking hard questions so our budget follows our priorities and our dollars reach classrooms.
  • A Parent’s Voice: bringing an everyday parent’s perspective to the board table, listening to families, and making sure the board’s decisions are clear and easy to understand.

This community gave me so much. Now it’s my turn to give back. Rooted here. Ready to serve.
